The Aspirations of Ellingham House:
Our desire is to provide a ‘home from home’ world for our children, creating an atmosphere whereby we are able to encourage the inquiring, expanding thoughts and imagination of the children in a safe and caring environment, through structured activities and play.
It is our view that the children who spend time at Ellingham House will benefit most from the positive, enthusiastic and knowledgeable encouragement of our staff, enabling them to better learn the fundamental skills and foundations to learning, as well as, to develop their social skills so that they are able to express self-control and understand how they should interact and treat others and the difference between right and wrong. Through example and caring guidance, we wish to impart good manners and social grace and a fully rounded preparation for the next stage of their educational development.
“Ellingham House – Simply Idyllic”
Ellingham House – Simply “Outstanding” – Ofsted 2019, 2015, 2009, 2006
We were delighted to receive this most laudable accolade from Ofsted, one that places us in the top 2% of settings nationwide. Please refer to the full Inspection Report at the Ofsted website – www.ofsted.gov.uk and to assist you our post code is BH24 3PJ.
In Ofsted’s own words the accreditation of ‘Outstanding’ means:- “This applies to provision which is exceptional. It is highly effective at making sure that the outcomes for children are excellent. The childcare practice is exemplary. Nursery education is of such a high quality that three and four year old’s learning and achievement are exceptional in relation to their starting points and capabilities. The practice is so good that it is worth disseminating beyond the setting.”
“Thank you for having the vision to start, build, maintain and optimise Ellingham House in providing an outstanding start for all children lucky enough to have been nurtured through each of the rooms and sent on their way to surrounding schools.
Their needs have been met above and beyond and foundations of learning, good manners and behaviour have been laid. I know I echo many parents in saying that it has been the best start for Tristan and I say this as you know, with the experience of several other settings for comparison.”
